INSOMNIA HEALING
“You have no idea how long the dark lasts when you cannot close your eyes to it”
Tyler Knott Gregson

When trying harder to sleep is what keeps you awake.

Specialist treatment for chronic insomnia, from a sleep psychotherapist.

I offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), the recommended first-line treatment, as a structured programme, usually 7–10 sessions. I tailor it to you and introduce each step at the right time, so the sessions count and better sleep has the best chance of lasting.

Is this you?

How it works

Sleep can’t be forced. The harder you try, the more awake you become. CBT-I helps you stop fighting for sleep and lets it return on its own. The order and timing matter, so each step is introduced when it’s most likely to help.

1

Understand

We look at your sleep and what keeps the problem going for you.

2

Release

We ease the clock-watching, effort and worry that keep you alert at night.

3

Rebuild

We reset your sleep pattern, step by step.

4

Sustain

You leave knowing what to do if a difficult patch returns.

Questions

Do I need to stop sleep medication first?

No. Many people start while still taking it, and any changes are made gradually with your GP.

I’ve tried CBT-I before. Is this different?

The tools are the same; the timing and the psychological work around them are not. This approach is often a good fit when CBT-I hasn’t worked before.

Can I claim on insurance?

I’m registered with Aviva, AXA, Cigna and WPA. You pay me and claim reimbursement directly.

For clinicians
